help: something freaky in my tank

there is something crawling around in my under gravel filter. it came up by the edge of the glass under the filter. looked to be a greyish white worm of some kind. about the thickness of a medium/small earth worm and maybe an inch long. as i have not put anything like this in my tank i assume it hitched a ride in on a plant. none of my fish are sick, injured, or missing.....yet(?). i know snails can get down there, but this didn't look like a snail. what is it, or could it be? should i rip everything apart and put the fish in my other tanks or should i quareenteen this one(maybe to late as i moved plants out of this one earlier today before i saw this thing).

Maybe its the worm from x-files and it'll just turn back into water. :-()
