In Response To: Plant filter?. (Mercy)

I just sent you an email with a file attached.

The concept is to use emergent plants (part in water, part out) in a filter outside of the main tank. One such plant that does extremely well under such conditions is the Brazilian Sword (Spathiphyllum sp.). It usually does not thrive in most aquarium situations (when totally submerged). It is much better suited as a house plant, and is commonly sold as such.

Using emergent plants outside of your tank as part of a filtration package means that you don't need to supplement with CO2 for the plants to thrive, and you can have fish in your tank that eat and/or uproot plants.
