Magnum Pro

Has anyone had long term use of the magnum 350 pro with the bio wheel. We just got one, had ran it for a week with the micron filter(wow was the water ever clean) but when we tried changing the filter it took hours to get it to run again. Any way I want to put one on the new 125 gal tank I an getting because of the micron filter I have never had water like that, but my daughter thinks its a cheaply made deal. Anyone have an oppinion?
