I flat out of ideas

Apologies that this only vaguely loach related in the the fish in question shares a tank with my loaches.

I have just beaten off an outbreak of ich. It seemed to be caused by excessive nitrates (150ppm+ and how, what or why yet to be established). Strangely enought my angelfish caught it, not any of my loaches. However, after 2 weeks of treatment and quarantine Angel goes back in 2 weeks ago and everything seems fine. However, she (as we discovered after a phantom spawning) has a new and worrying trick. I have a right angle glazed clay pipe in the gravel. Its quite smooth, but promenent. Angel can be seen lineing herself up with the edge of the open end and flicking her body against the pipe. it interesting to watch as you can spot her noticing the pipe, swimming over, lining up and going for it.
