As far as the submersible heaters go, yes they are electric, and the cord and all goes right into the tank. I found that hard to believe myself, but now I'm used to it. I'm really happy with the Acura. But you have time to look into it since this will be the last item you purchased. (See, I paid attention.) :-) :-)
