Regarding your clown loaches, how big were they? Did you buy them over 1.5"? In my experiences, clown loaches (large ones especially) are the hardest loach to feed. All clown loach around 1 inch are very easy to keep. They will readily take any prepared food. Clowns too small (about 1/2") are too delicate to keep.

Back to your problem, I would suggest removing most of your other fishes to another tank and give your clowns a lot of hiding places. Then with the lights off, feed them live food, such as snails (thei
