And the learning curve begins...

Well, the Scarlett Woman of Irridescent Plastic Plant fame has started her first all-live plant tank. I'm pleased to report that I've killed ALL the hornwort I purchased in the first 3 days of operation, though the other plants (dwarf hyrgrophila (?), Water Sprite, Apogeneton bulbs) seem to be hanging in there. My research has prepared me mentally for ugliness and disaster for at least the first 4-6 months, so I do not despair. Prior to adding the plants to the tank I soaked them in a 2% bleach solution for 20 minutes to kill pond snails and any other gnarly plant rodents. This may be what ultimately killed the hornwort, however, once I had fished all the disintegrated hornwort out of the tank, I noticed a large, happy pond snail traversing the debris pile... Anyo
