I have a brown fuzzy algae that reoccurs on my driftwood. I have a heck of a time with it. I scrub the wood when I clean the tank, but I can never get rid of it all so it comes right back and clogs up my filter if unchecked. I even once had a rainbow-something-or-other get caught in the algae and die! The only thing that seems to help is I bought these algae tablets and soaked the wood with a bunch of the tablets in my sink for awhile. It seems to slow the growth.
