I'm still using a 24"x15"x12" that I bought 8 years ago for 1 pound with a big crack across one corner of the bottom. I just siliconed a piece of old glass over the crack. As all-glass tanks shopuld rest on a styrofoam or other softish, load spreading base, it's well supported. Not sure if that method would work with a side or end panel.....aeshthetic problems you dont have with a base.
