Hurricanes and Fish Tanks?

Has anyone ever been through a hurricane (or a long power outage) with several fish tanks? Any suggestions? At this point Dennis is still headed in our direction, although no one really has a clue where he will go. We're under a tropical storm warning and should know something in the next 12 hours. When Hugo hit here 10 years ago, people were without power for up to 2 weeks, although Dennis isn't that strong. I have some battery operated air pumps, but batteries are almost impossible to find. Are they really going to do much good without any filtration? I'm not really worried (yet) just thinking ahead.
