When I got home from work the floor had completely dried. Probably because I'd cranked the central heating right up before I left! The house felt like a sauna.

Seems that some people thought this was a hardwood floor. It's one of those imitation wood laminated floors that are tongued and grooved together. They're not designed for getting wet underneath, but it's OK to wipe them over with a damp rag. Fortunately,
