Burnt Pleco

My stupid 7 1/2in common pleco has burnt himself again (5th time) but this time its pretty bad. There is white stuff on the burnt part (probably fungus and the size of a quarter) and I was wondering what would be the best way to help heal it. I was thinking salt but that is not good for plecos so now I am thinking of getting some anti fungus things instead. Any one know a good way to deal with this or should I just let him/her heal like it did before.
