Like you, I thought, "What do I have for scale?" as a way of determining the size of this fish.

On my screen the large image is 3" SL (nose to caudal peduncle). If the fish is 18" long, then to scale the tank frame is over 6" deep, and I've never seen a 6' framed tank utilise 6"+ angle-frame. There appears to be a square tube stand under it, which scales to about 2", again an unusual size.

The substrate was another factor I considered. Again (to scale) the substrate is very large, and totally unconventional in normal usage.

I'm not sure about the possibility of the Geophagus entering the picture. It COULD be one, and if so, again appears TOO big if the Clown is 18".

James have you actually seen these fish?

Martin.
