I was under the impression that two red-tails in one tank is a big no-no, unless you have a HUGE home for them. That's my concern right now.

I've heard of two people who claim there red tail sharks and loaches get along famously. On the other hand, I'm also under the impression that the blue botia are on the aggressive side. I could be wrong--that does happen occasionally.
