Matt,

The HOT magnum hangs off the back ("Hangs On Tank"). The 350 magnum is a floor stander. I like the H.O.T. Magnum Bio-wheel Pro system. Keeps the bio cycle going and it's very easy to maintain. The gravel washer attachment works well. The pleated micron cartidges *really* polish the water and can be cleaned fairly easily. Most of the time I leave the micron cartridge out and keep the media holder full of carbon.

I've never tried the Fluval filters, but they look quite nice.
