Pino, Hatchets are built the way they are expressly for flying, so no wonder they keep jumping out of your tank. The deep keel shaped body contains big muscles to power the large pectoral fins which they'll flap rapidly for a short time, then glide on just over the surface. They use this as an escape mechanism in the wild.

You need a well covered tank.
