Well, I guess it is a kind of "live with it" thing. They (almost all loaches) seem to go through phases. The last month or so has been hard on my plants too. But basically you can ease their veggy appetite with some green matter like you mentioned. I have found most of my loaches to really like Hiriaki algae wafers. They seem to help a little. I will admit, as of late I have not feed a large Varity of green things to my guys. I don't know if that's my problem or what, but I keep tossing in the wafers and they keep poopping them.
