Well, to a point, because when you think about, by removing the dominant fish from its tank then naturally, a different one will take over. Then the whole routine starts over again. If you deperately desire large and quick size increases it would be best to keep about all fish in individual tanks. But I think just about all fish are more fun to watch in groups.

Now if someone could rig up a system that would allow for a continous water change to be going on by means of dumping good water into your tank constantly and draining off the bad water, or even selectively filtering out all of the unwanted molecules and particles...... perhaps this will be the aquarium filter of the future.
