tank water.... green???

I reset my tank up about a month and a half ago and the waters been green this week, Iam wondering if this is the cycle or if its high nitrates? Should I buy some freeze dryed bacteria at all and will this speed stuff up? Also while this is happening should I carry one with my water changes??? Sorry about all the questions, Thanks... Jermand -x-
