I'm assuming that question was aimed at me since I was the one that mentioned the cooler temp issue :-)
All I can say on the subject is that the very knowledgable person I knew who kept leptobotia told me they were cold water fish and were thriving in his unheated tank (this was about 8 years ago before I even got interested in loaches properly). Add to that the snippet I added about the guy at Wholesale trops who specifically mentioned leptobotia when he was talking about the ban on coldwater imports, and finally I believe (but haven't verified - I'll check when i get home later) that Baensch lists the temp range in the 60's.
I've always believed them to be cooler water fish anyhow, maybe I'd better do some research. :-)
