"let it cycle a week"? OUCH! You're nowhere near cycled yet. Fortunately, a few white clouds and one clown loach in an uncycled 60 gal. tank should be a small enough load to cycle without reaching lethal levels. Please don't add ANYTHING else, though, for at least 3 more weeks or until your nitrites and ammonia both test at ZERO.

I can usually tell the age of a tank by its water test results: Moderate ammonia, no nitrite: 1 week. High ammonia, high nitrite: 2 weeks. Moderate ammonia, really scary nitrite: 3 weeks. No ammonia, trace or no nitrite: 4 weeks.

A peculiarity of fishes is that they can actua
