"Black Spot Disease," almost looking like "black ich," is as you described...with a life cycle dependent upon snails, etc.

This disorder is NOT the same. It's almost like round patches of black fungus. Please read my lengthy email to you. Treat it with Maracyn in an isolation tank and see what happens.
