How MANY CICHLIDS are too MANY????????????

HI, I was wondering how many fish is too may? Right now in my 29 Gallon i have 2 1 1/2 inch Brichadris, 2 2 1/2 inch P. Zebras, and 4 lemon cichlids. I wanted to add maybe acouple more but i wasn't sure. Will they still breed even if it's a little crowed???? I also want to add some Khuli's i don't care wha tu say but i am. I eveunatlly want to get a 55 gallon also and then put the cichlids in there. Well ANY INFO IS GREAT THANX...........................
