Question about disease treatment

I was wondering if it is ok todo water changes during medicating a tank, and adding the same amount of coppersafe at water changes? And when you treat a tank, can you feed like normal? I've been feeding normally and I'm worried that some excess fodd thatis not eaten could pollute the water.
