My turn to ask a modesta question

I have been preparing to move my modestas to much more suitable accomodations - and it occurs to me, maybe I should get an even bigger tank? My modestas are growing like weeds in a small temporary tank that was never meant to be their real home. I've read the species index, but every time I see something there or in another reference, along comes someone here who has seen a bigger specimen of just about any loach type you can name - or so it seems! For example, the species index states 12" max for clown loaches, and everyone knows of a clown that's larger - such as the 16" one living in Sacramento.
