Steve, Back to Loaches before we bore people with all thois sterlet stuff.

I found the Stoneloach (well I guess it's what it was because I was only knee high to a Jack-Russell at the time) on Ilkley Moor by tent (we were camping at the time). Our tent was beside a stream and I saw the fish moving about quickly between the rocks. We tried to catch one in one of my Mum's stockings but the fish hid in the wrinkles in them. It got foggy later so we gave up fishing.

I seem to remember that the rocks in the stream were round and flat just like a flat-cap, so maybe your comment about them being required in an accurate biotope has some validity.

I think this sort of high flow Vortex based biotope tank would be pure looxury for the Stoneloach.

Martin.
