Never Kept Loaches

I have a 60 gallon freshwater community aquarium. I am interested in adding a loach to my tank. I have never kept loaches before so I don't really know that much. They are botton feeders right? What should I feed them? I have PlecoMin by Tetra and TetraMin tablets by Tetra. Will they eat these? I have plastic plants in my aquarium, is this ok? What types of care do loaches require? I'm not sure which kind of loach to get. I don't want a very large one...maybe only 4-5 inches full-grown. Is there a loach that would grow that big? If anyone can help me, I'd really appriciate it.
