Hey scott, I have 2 questions

This refers to the thread on low light below. You said you use a perfecto sholight that is only 24 inches ling for a 29 gallon but puts out 55 watts. I have a 29 gallon and I would like to do the same thing. Did you have to do anything special to get it to work or did you just put it in the hood and turn it on? Also, when people say the balast, do the mean the little white thing that has two prongs on the end, otherwise known as a starter? Thanks!!
