Those darned suction cups......grrrrr

Since there was a thread about heaters and such, I'd like to know what a person is supposed to do with suction cups that don't stick anymore (besides the obvious....throw them out.) I've boiled them to try to get them softened up...no go.

What's with the manufacturers? Almost all my heaters and internal filters are just hanging around these days. I've had to purchase kits of suction cups to replace the ones for the fluval spray bars. These things only last, at the most 18 months to 2 years. It's dusgusting, irritating and a down right nuisance.

If anyone has any helpful hints that will work out to soften these 'discs' (because that's what they turn into after a while) I would appreciate the input.
