Dave,

If they were spawning, the fish getting killed may have been accidental/incidental. All fish chase eggs. When my cherry barbs spawned the pair hardly got their act together before they were overwhelmed by all the other fish in the tank (or so it seemed) trying to eat the eggs. Later when one of my tetra female started laying her eggs, the yoyos were trying to get to the source and she only just avoided having her stomach region torn open. Once a fish is injured, others being opportunists, not to mention perhaps in a frenzy, would easily be capable of finishing it off.

As to watchers and experiments, where's the webcam you've been talking about? Didn't you mention borrowing one?

Anne
