# of loach species

My daughter did her science fair project on loaches. We have 5 different types - Kuhli, regular, Kuhli, black, Horseface, yoyo, and dojo. During her presentation someone asked her how many differnt types of loaches there are. My guess - 60.

Does anyone know the true answer for this 9 year old confirmed loach lover. Oh, like mother like daughter. I'm so proud.
