dying kuhli loach!

Last night, I came home and my 3 year old kuhli was laying on his back, breathing hard, and looks like he was either pale and swollen or was covered in a thick white film. Whats wrong? It looks like my gromie is getting ick.Please help, I did not see him this morning so I dont know if he is alive, last night I put 3 tsp of salt in the tank. Also, the tank is very established. Any suggestions?
