I have become curious now.

How big can a Wels catfish grow to be. I have read some papers about the white sturgeon, Acipenser transmontanius, at least I think that is what it was called. My memory on this creature isn't to good but I think it can grow up to nearly 800 or 850 Kg (close to 1900lbs or so.) I also think they were around 20 feet long at times. I am not to sure on that data. I think they also lived in the Mississipi river system in non-tidal zones. I don't know much about the Wels catfish though. Anyone fill me in?

Nick
