blue botia/modesta question

I have a total of five blue botias. 2 live in a 20 gal tank, the others in my large 55 gal. One of the 2 in my 20 gal tank was a rescue from a Walmart death tank early last year. He only has one eye, I think its a birth defect, otherwise he seems perfectly healthy. All my blues are anti social hermits. I never see my 3 botias in my big tank anymore since I put in a big castle hideaway. I never know if they're alive until I do some cleaning. Do they school at all like clowns? Or are they grumps no matter who's there? Should I put all my blue botias together in one tank? (I'm thinking the 20 gal, the blues are pretty much it in there except for a betta and a funny looking algae eater , and 1 neon and 1 wht mt min (orphans from a friend's son's tank>).
