disease that looks like ick but is not ick?

Is there such a thing that affects loaches? I had 2 clown loaches two different times. Both times they eventually got what I thought was ick. Both times they never recovered, I never noticed them getting better. The first time, I was new to it and didn't raise the temp, the 2 eventually died. This time, I raised the temp to 84F and treated 1/2 dose of QuickCure and still didn't work, both died about 7 days after I first spotted it. Is QuickCure not effective or what? Twice it hasn't worked but I do here good stories about QC, maybe it was in spite of it?

Could there be a disease that looks like ick but isn't? the clowns and other fish had
