In Response To: Thawing frozen food (Loay)

If I throw in a cube or chunk one fish will grab it and steal most of it. It is fun to watch the other fish chase the "hog", but it does not seem like a very democratic method.

I just run cool tap water over a chunk in a brine shrimp net until it breaks up so the food gets spread out more evenly, and hopefully cleans it up a little. Tap water can't be much different from the water they used to freeze the doomed little creatures.

I rinse out live brine shrimp with tap water also. I can't believe that they could really absorb enough chlorine to bother the fish. You could always add a drop of water conditioner to the water that you use to rinse.
