Yes, the banjos are excellent community fish, but don't expect to see much of them (I went months without so much as a glimpse). They are very nocturnal, and do not grow very large. Very interesting fish, and sticks mainly to the bottom, although I have seen it 'dance' up and down the front pane.

If you're into decidely odd looking fish, this is one for you. Very hardy, takes a lot of water condition & temp abuse (wide range), but it doesn't move a lot, and will grow not much larger than 4"TL. One can actually pick up the fish with a slow approach, but just as you're about to breach the surface, an amazingly fast burst of speed, and it's gone.

I didn't know they ate snails, thanks for the info. :)
