Kamphol questions...Vaillantella sp.

In which family are Vaillantella species placed? The dorsal seems so totally alien compared to other loaches and the family Cyprinidae fish that people usually see in the hobby. Truly bizarre!

Do you mean that Vaillantella are very rare in nature, or just in the hobby?

Are Vaillantella an older lineage, what people sometimes call "living fossils"?

Maybe you have answered this question, but how they catch "Kuhlis" for import?
