I had a trio of Clowns for ten years...and two of those lasted a couple of years beyond the ten year mark. I encountered no such problems. They were not aggressive.

The huge clowns that I experienced while working at Albany Aquarium (wild caught), Albany, CA, and at Capital Aquarium, Sacramento, CA (I saw the pair at their 30 year mark) didn't appear to be aggressive.

Yet, I don't doubt what you are saying. Why? Because I've experienced small B. sids to be extremely peaceful fish over the years...and now some folks on this board report that they have experienced just the opposite. So, I think it may be possible, even though I haven't experienced such.

I don't know the author you are referring to. However, I have know another individual who was well published in the mags. I used to visit the shop he managed quite often, and I didn't always agree with his views. He certainly knew his stuff, but he had his opinions just as I do. We still enjoyed each other's company though. :-)
