Mike; While I'm not an expert, I've noticed that often times, but not always, shistura and nemacheilus names can be interchangeable. For example, I have two polka pot loaches that are listed in our species index as nemacheilus corica. However, in the book Ornamental Aquarium fishes of India, they are called shistura corica. Fishbase.org is full of similar examples.
