Throw in a head of Romaine lettuce. Well rinsed of course. Everyone in my tank loves it. I have left town for extended periods before and never had a problem. This will keep the fish from picking at each other and will not foul the water in a weeks time. Mickie was right though, good healthy fish can go a week without food. Don't make the mistake of overfeeding the day you leave. I've seen many people give two or three times their usual amount and return to a cloudy tank of dead fish. If you are not leaving for a few days you can fatten them up a bit each day so they won't get too skinny while you are gone.
