Logic, (at least my dubious brand of it ) tells me that it shouldn't be a problem, but is there any risk of transferring an algae problem from one tank to another by using the same diatom filter on both tanks? I have a heavily planted 3' tank (with a CO2 kit ) with a severe infestation of a furry, hairy type algae on most of the plants. I am currently treating it with Phosguard which seems to be taking a long time to work. I would like to run the diatom filter in this tank but am afraid I will transfer the problem when I put it back on the 6'. Can anybody put me straight?
