I'm sure that if fish were more expensive, then people would spend more time with their tanks, and take more precautions in keeping them healthy. You're right, Doc. Because fish are such a cheap commodity, they're easy to dispose of and replace. Other than the clowns I've gotten at Petsmart (because they had just received shipment and were about 10 dollars less than the lfs), and the three yoyos that Wal-Mart had because I felt badly for them, all my fish come from an lfs. The fish generally are healthier, and they're worth the extra price.
