I have seen fish sold retail over long distances, but the cost to package and ship them correctly seems quite expensive. No one would want dead fishies to arrive at the door step! Here in northern Virginia I can find a lot of loaches if I wait long enough. Darios are the main ones I've looked for, but have never found. I haven't been out scouting for new varieties lately because my tanks seem to have the "right" numbers and combinations of loaches and I don't want to mess up good balances. Good luck in your loach hunting. <
