Well, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only heathen fish keeper out there. After all the comments about my algea problem, I was curious so I dug out the test kit that I haven't used in probably three years and tested my water. Everything came out pretty much as I expected. My water is still hard and has a pH of 7.4 - 7.6. It did show some nitrAte, but that will happen when my last water change was a week previous to testing. After freaking out all the time when I was new to the hobby, I decided to take a much more laid back approach to fish keeping. Reseach you fish's needs, try to provide them, and perform regular maintenance. Otherwise, sh*t happens. GO HEATHENS!!!
