Killer Clowns

I have a funny mystery and wondered if anyone had ever known of timid clowns to kill another fish???

I have 2 Clowns, one is probably 3 1/2 inches and the other smaller. They are seemingly VERY TIMID.

In a 30 gallon tank they are living with 2 small Cory Cats, 5 Rummy-Nosed, 4 Cardinal, 1 Emerald-Eyed Tetras. I have gone through 2 Bettas in a very short time. The first one lasted about a week and I found him floating. Knowing they are bred like puppy mill puppies, I figured it was some congenital defect, so I didn't inspect too closely and gave him a "flush funeral". I bought a second Betta and the same thing happened. I guiltily thought, "Oh God, my tank is overcrowded and it killed
