Modestas Munching Mightily

Has anyone else noticed any of their loaches having a drastic increase in appetite?

My seven modestas do the "feed me dance" every chance they get, as opposed to doing it only at mealtimes. They are so frenzied about it that all seven of them come out to do it - no more shy hiding on anyone's part. I finally started feeding them extra meals, and they consume it all in a minute or so, even if they had a meal 2 hours before. In general, I would say they are eating twice as much, and they really are eating it all - there's nothing left to vacuum up.

They look healthy and I'm positive it isn't parasites, having had way too much experience with parasites in discus.

I think they are having a growth spurt. Or maybe they are preparing
