I really wouldn't put clown loaches in a tank that small. They need lots of room and oxygen and they'd probably be miserable once they started to grow.

"One inch per gallon" is only a rough guideline and doesn't apply to thick bodied fish such as clown loaches. They produce much more waste than slimmer fish of a similar length. It is more important to look at the massiveness of the fish rather than its length. Not only would the clowns have very little room to move around once they grow, but you would be doing more wate
