Corys with no whiskers!

I realize that this is a loach forum but I remember reading someone's post about this somewhere but I cannot find the message. I have two cory cats in a community tank. One has lost all signs of barbels and it's mouth is snowy white. The lips look bigger than the other cory. It seems in good health, is very active and eats well. The albino cory still has a pointy nose but has no barbels either. They actually have been this way for some time. If anyone can fill me in as to whether I should worry about these guys I'd appreciate it. They are both about an inch and a half long. I posted this question in the fresh water forum but so far I've been ignored.
