While Iris' solution certainly sounds authoritative, you may not have to go to such lengths. I have treated ich successfully a couple of times in my tank with an inexpensive treatment I got from the lfs. Just remove any filtration materials, throw in a few drops of the liquid and leave for 24 hours. You then do a partial water change, and presto! Ich all gone. You may have to use a half-dosage though because I think loaches have no scales wihich makes them more sensitive.
